How many times this year has the Legislature tried to squeeze the Budget to keep things running this year, and to make things better and the money was not there. The Prison System, Teachers, State Employees, The Highway Dept and last but not least The Ardmore Higher Education Center. The University Branch Bill would make it possible for those that could not leave far from home for one reason or another and would also benefit everyone in this area as a whole! All the Presidential Candidates say we should , but President Bush says we should not and i believe we should not as well. I knew there had been tax cuts the last couple of years and i had read in this paper and a few more around the state that there was going to be a Funds shortage. There is something else people do not look at and that is when they cut spending at the Federal Level, there are items that the State has to make up for! I have read a lot of history and i do not remember that there was ever Tax Cuts at the Fed Level during a war! I received my letter in the mail today to let me know my check will be here soon! It was a big letter , i thought at first that they may have sent me a phone book, it tells you about when it will be mailed , were it is coming from. I believe they sent this out so you will go spend it before you get it! Now here is a man who is legally blind being swore in as Governor of New York and just a week and a half ago i will bet you he did not ever think he would be Governor one day. This man must have worked twice as hard for everything he got, but he made it to the 15th round and he is still standing. Neither of Oklahoma's Senators voted against the McCain anti Pork spending, but 71 other Senator's did including the 2 from my Home State of Arkansas! The list of names that voted against is below.
