Park Name:

Angelia Phillips, the mother of Spc. Micheal Phillips, who was killed last February while serving in Iraq, is trying to rally support for renaming Ardmore Regional Skate Park. She would like to see the park named after her fallen son.

Park Open:

After eight years of planning, getting the money together, starting construction and overcoming some early users, Ardmore's skateboarding park is now officially open.

Model Citizen:

U.S. Magistrate Steven P. Shreder had special words of praise March 28 for an 80-year-old Ardmore woman who took the oath of a U.S. citizen in ceremonies at the Carl Albert U.S. Courthouse in McAlester.
